We were so excited to learn our customers Emily & Julian were getting married at Asylum Chapel in east London because it is hands down our favourite ceremony venue. The stunning grade 2 listed chapel located in Caroline Gardens in Peckham is famous for its paint stripped walls which gives it that unique bohemian quality. This feature paired with the history of occupancy makes it a truly atmospheric and romantic setting. Dressed up and styled with candles and flowers, this venue really is a photoshoot dream.
Emily & Julian had a stylish and elegant tone to their wedding character including a relaxed wedding breakfast at the Hawksmoor Guildhall which we all know is the place to get delicious steak. The airy basement style restaurant fitted with ample wood and leather upholstery makes for a stylish yet laid back wedding breakfast location. The rest of the wedding day style was met from seasonal flowers designed by Petal & Pot which included dusty pink and peach florals. This colour palette continued into the bridesmaid dresses from Ghost and a bridal dress from luxury British bridal designer Charlie Brear.
Another quality that added sheer passion to the affair was the season. Autumn is such a beautiful season to get married in because the evenings are starting to draw in and it’s an excuse to light the candles earlier in the day. The warm colour palette and cooler days makes for a cozy feeling.
The whole day was captured beautifully by Miss Gen Photography who is a London based photographer specialising in creative reportage wedding photography. This documentary style photography suited this couple’s day perfectly as it really told the story and romance of the day.
We were delighted to create their reception seating planner which they chose from our Elegance collection. This style of table plan layout suited their wedding theme perfectly as it was simple, clear and classic in design. They had places of meaning for the table names such as Angel, Highbury and Victoria Park which added a great personal touch to the board. This particular style of table plan layout is great for the smooth running of the day helping guests glance and find their seats quickly. The table plan board was decorated beautifully with green foliage and some seasonal flowers and placed on a shabby wooden easel.
It absolutely makes our day when we see our stationery come to light in real settings at real weddings. We always feel like we have been a small part of the couple’s day and the joy we see in the faces of the wedding party is pure magic. This particular wedding was a dream to be a part of as we just love the relaxed elegance and boho chic vibe of the day.
We’re always seeking to strive for the understated sophistication in our wedding stationery and we think Emily & Julian and the rest of the wedding team that worked on this wedding have done just that.
